I am an ace, nonbinary and neuroqueer poetry practitioner and lecturer/teacher based in Ramsgate.
Creative Practice
My practice is research-informed and creative-critical. My poetry and hybrid writing often explore themes of voice and work, human interactions with landscape, global weirding, neuroqueer and ace poetics, and ideas around magic and seasonality. I often engage with archival materials, blending critical research and academic inquiry with artistic practice.
My creative projects tend to be sequence or series based, and have taken the form of prose poetry, poetic essay, visual work, lyric, fragment, and wayward translation. I'm also interested in experimental, non-page-based poetries, and I’m currently co-writing a book about multimodal and hybrid poetic forms.
Some of my creative work has been described as “a riotous suite of anti-augury” and a “playful organology of bodily forms (human and more-than)” (Luke Roberts; Maria Sledmere).
Teaching
I have twelve years of experience teaching in Higher Education. I specialise in poetry, creative writing and life writing as professional and pedagogical practices.
I have a deep grounding in inclusive pedagogy, poetic practice, and critical-creative thinking.
My teaching work focuses on:
• Interdisciplinary, hybrid and multimodal poetic forms
• Neurodivergent-led teaching and writing practices
• Decolonising creative writing pedagogy
• Poetics of sustainability and climate grief
• Creative writing for mental health and emotional literacy
I also edit DATABLEED, an international platform for experimental poetry.
